This position requires managing a team of 5+ hard core engineers per customer account on the J2EE stack. The candidate shall own the delivery management of up to 3 accounts from the engineering side. The candidate is accountable for liaising with pre-sales for front ending the solutions architecture and requirements elicitation phases.
Also the candidate shall own the complete delivery of customer product including design, development, unit testing, QA, configuration management, change management as well as customer release. Candidate must be completely hands on in the technology areas of J2EE/Java stack with strong development experience in frameworks such as Struts/Tapestry, Hibernate and Spring Framework.
Also, must conduct code reviews, design documentation and customer facing triage and resolutions. We are looking for candidates with strong J2EE expertise and have worked on technology practice areas such Security, Performance, System Integrations, Web Services and such. It is a plus if the candidate has also worked on open source frameworks such as GWT, Gears, Velocity, Lucene etc.
Work Experience required:
8+ years of software development experience.
Strong Project and People Management Experience.
Must have been part of 4+ large customer release cycles of any product.
Strong experience in leading product engineering teams of size 5+ people.
Requirements Management, Customer expectation management.
PDLC management from engineering side.
Technology and Innovation Management.
Release management, software configuration management, change management.
Product development experience is preferable.
Good knowledge on team process and product development lifecycle.
Product Development experience is Preferable.
Previous experience building enterprise applications using Struts/Tiles/JSP/J2EE/Portal frameworks.
Good knowledge of J2EE framework and Design Patterns.
Expertise in one or more of the Major AppServers - JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, WebLogic, and WAS.
Expertise in one or more of the Major Database - MS SQL, Oracle, and DB2.
Exposure to Open Source Frameworks.
Knowledge of Web Services and SOA.
Exposure to Software Development Processed and Methodologies – Agile, XP, RUP etc…
